Ajay joined the Foundation in 2009 lead by his passion for social impact after spending 30 years in the technology business in Silicon Valley. He has been instrumental in devising sustainable strategy for national level impact through technology solutions, government partnerships, and building national networks and running the Foundation as a business. Ajay is now driving the Foundation’s globalization footprints across 20 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Ajay scaled startups and mid-stage companies to several billion dollar organizations including at Autodesk, Symphony Teleca and GE. Ajay has a B.Tech (IIT Bombay) and Ph.D in Engineering from the University of Rochester, U.S.A.
Based in Mexico City, Javier Campos heads the Foundation’s Latin America Operations.
With over 20 years of successful career across markets and industries in Europe and Latin America, Javier’s entrepreneurial spirit, business development strategic thinking and global deployment experience led to germination and expansion of several start-ups and new divisions of global organizations. Prior to joining Wadhwani Foundation, Javier was the VP of the International Division of USS, where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the international growth for the company. As Managing Director of Stanley Security Mexico, he helped launch the company in the region and establish it as a strong player in the market. Javier started his career at Schneider Electric, where he took various management roles in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East to create growth strategies focused on Industrial, Aerospace and Defence markets.
Javier holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in México.
Based in Kenya, Varsy is building and leading operations, and managing business partnerships with Government, Academia and Industry. He is also responsible for building a strong bonded community of beneficiaries (startups, SMEs and skilled personnel) and partners (mentors, investors, associations, corporates, academic institutions, government officials).
Varsy has over 15 years of experience in customer service and administration. He last assignment was with Rapidol Pty Ltd, South Africa as Country Manager. He has also worked with organizations like Ceva Sante Animale France, Nestle’ Kenya Ltd., HACO Industries BIC France Alberto Culver USA; East and Central Africa and Procter & Gamble East Africa. Varsy was also a lecturer with Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
Varsy is an M.B.A in Leadership and Administration from University of Regina, Bachelor of Commerce: Marketing from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and Post Graduate Diploma: Management University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is also a certified P&G Business Trainer and Harvard Business School certified.
Sunita drives the Foundation’s global expansion, including setting strategy, building teams, fund raising, and forging high-potential partnerships. Over the past few years, Sunita has led NEN’s unique capacity-development initiative, where she pioneered the development of India’s entrepreneurship educational capacity and network across 500 academic institutions, creating first-time access to knowledge and skills for aspiring and new entrepreneurs. She also contributes to NEN’s thought leadership by driving research, collaboration and representation at strategic forums in India and abroad.
She is on the advisory and steering committees of several non-profit and government organizations, including AANDE India, SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre at IIT Kanpur. Prior to joining WF’s entrepreneurship network, Sunita helped set up the Mumbai brand of Litmus, a national PR agency. She went on to head Litmus Mumbai, engaging in business development and creative campaign execution for large multinational companies.
Sunita holds a post-graduate degree and an M.Phil.
Austin works for the Office of the CEO as EVP of Impact Measurement.
He was previously a management consultant and has worked with the World Bank, The Gates Foundation and the Botswana Govt. Austin was a Vice-President with Dallas based i2, an SCM application software firm, heading both Solutions and Services business units in the U.S and India. He was the leader of i2’s move for offshoring development to its India center in 2002.
Austin is a MBA from University of Chicago, M.S. in IE & OR from Purdue University & B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
Atul spearheads marketing activities of Wadhwani Foundation and its Initiatives, globally.
He has over two decades of cross-industrial experience in strategic marketing, branding, product management and marketing communications across some of India’s leading organizations including Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, Shaw Wallace, Videocon, Bennett & Coleman, Biocon and Daewoo Motors. Before he committed full time to the non-profit space, Atul had been instrumental in launching and managing leading FMCG brands like Airtel, Royal Challenge, Daewoo Matiz, Tata Indicom and Kenwood. His marketing career has been replete with success stories on corporate branding and product marketing.
An MBA, Atul has honed his marketing & branding skills at Marcus Evans, London, Indian School of Business (ISB), Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC). He is an avid writer with his views and articles featured in leading publications regularly. A member of US headquartered International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), he has been extensively awarded for marketing initiatives.
Sashi leads Wadhwani Foundation’s technology and platform strategy.
He is a serial entrepreneur and co-founded Covansys, Indigo Technologies, PayPod and Qwiky’s Coffee among several others. As an angel investor and mentor, Sashi has advised and mentored several startups in the Silicon Valley and in India. Over the past 34 years, Sashi has served in a variety of management roles in companies across U.S. and India.
As an entrepreneur, Sashi has been featured in several national and international publications as well as on CNBC and BBC. He also delivers guest lectures at Monterey Institute of International Studies to international students aspiring to be entrepreneurs. He is a post-graduate from N.I.T.I.E in Industrial Engineering and a B. Tech graduate from J.N. University in Andhra Pradesh.
Swati is the Financial Controller at Wadhwani Foundation.
Her prior stints were with United Rentals Inc. Corporate Finance, a listed U.S company and a startup, Rate Integration. She commenced her career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells, International Taxation.
Swati holds a B.Com and LLB from Gujarat University and is a Chartered Accountant & Certified Public Accountant, from Colorado State.
Bafana has over 20 years of work experience and is a passionate entrepreneur. Successful at building sustainable and profitable businesses in Sub Sahara Africa, he has developed and executed a wide range of business strategies. He founded Twenty-Four Zero Pty Ltd before joining the Wadhwani Foundation and has also worked with organizations like GE, Merck Millipore and Huhtamaki.
