Ajay joined the Foundation in 2009 led by his passion for social impact after spending 30-years in the technology business in Silicon Valley. Since then, he has expanded the Foundation’s initiatives to three continents and $100M of Govt. investment. He has been instrumental in devising sustainable strategy for global impact through technology solutions, government partnerships, building national networks and running the Foundation as a business. Ajay is now driving and scaling the Foundation’s globalization footprint in 25-countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Ajay scaled startups and mid-stage companies to several billion dollar organizations including Symphony Services to $175M in six years with eventual exit at $780M and AutoCAD business at Autodesk from $170M to $850M in 10 years. Ajay has a B.Tech (IIT Bombay) and Ph.D in Engineering from the University of Rochester, U.S.A. His Ph.D research on computer graphics led to multi-million dollar products at GE and Autodesk.
Based in Mexico City, Javier Campos heads the Foundation’s Latin America Operations.
With over 20 years of successful career across markets and industries in Europe and Latin America, Javier’s entrepreneurial spirit, business development strategic thinking and global deployment experience led to germination and expansion of several start-ups and new divisions of global organizations. Prior to joining Wadhwani Foundation, Javier was the VP of the International Division of USS, where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the international growth for the company. As Managing Director of Stanley Security Mexico, he helped launch the company in the region and establish it as a strong player in the market. Javier started his career at Schneider Electric, where he took various management roles in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East to create growth strategies focused on Industrial, Aerospace and Defence markets.
Javier holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in México.
Head, MENA and Turkey
Based in Cairo (Egypt), Hesham leads the Foundation’s efforts in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Over the past 20+ years Hesham has been a serial entrepreneur and corporate executive and one of the leaders of the communication and information technology (CIT) sector in Middle East and Africa. Over the years, Hesham has established and exited companies in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and US, co-founded NGO and PPP organizations and acted as corporate CXO for regional conglomerate groups and multinational companies expanding in Middle East and Africa. Before joining the Foundation Hesham was managing an angel investment group which he founded for investing in pre seed and seed funding of tech and tech-enabled startups in MENA region.
Hesham holds an MSc in E–Commerce from Middle Sex university, London UK. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Cairo University Egypt. He teaches Leadership in Organization, Change management, Fintech and E-Health in the American University in Cairo and the American Chamber of Commerce.
Head, West Africa
Based in Nigeria, Dare leads the Foundation’s West Africa Operations. He has diverse management experience of 20+ years in FMCG, Banking, Telecom and Oil & Gas sectors in organizations like UAC of Nigeria PLC, Cadbury Nigeria PLC, Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Globacom Limited and Conoil PLC. His last assignment was with Achilles Information Limited Nigeria, where he was the Managing Director for the Nigeria Subsidiary of Achilles Group Limited, UK.
Dare is a passionate entrepreneur with business interests in farming, telecom, petroleum marketing and hospitality businesses.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, an MBA from Delta State University and a Master of Science degree from University of London. Dare is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK; Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, UK and Member of the Institute of Directors. He is an alumnus of Lagos Business School, CEP24 Class and IESE Business School, AMP/CEP Program.
Samir leads the Wadhwani Advantage program in India with a focus on accelerating small business growth.
He has 25-years of rich experience in research, strategy and transformation consulting in Asia, Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore, UK and US. Samir is a thought leader in building conceptual frameworks and developing insights in select domains. He has been in leadership roles, successfully advising and executing hundreds of engagements for domestic and multinational, small and large businesses, in diverse set of manufacturing and service industries. He has also played a role in shaping government agenda in skills and education.
Samir has a master’s degree in consulting and coaching for change from INSEAD, France. He is trained in executive coaching using psychodynamic principles to solve the personal and business problems of leaders. He has also attended programs in ‘Leading Professional Service Firms’ at Harvard Business School and ‘Challenges of Global Poverty’ at MIT.
Sunil Dahiya leads the Foundation’s Global Skills Network (GSN) including working with stakeholders to equip non-college-bound high school graduates with sufficient work-skills, transforming ITIs to modern manufacturing training hubs and multi-skill institutes, and engaging with employers for adjunct faculty, internships and apprenticeships.
Sunil has a rich experience of 25+ years working at leadership levels in vocational training space in India. In his last assignment he was heading the India B2C Business vertical for NIIT Ltd. He has worked across various functions & domains such as industry collaboration (placements), launching new business, global technology alliances, product development, methodology & pedagogy research, business development, P&L responsibility, quality education delivery, training, and policy and strategy devising. He co-founded a new B2B Business vertical “StackRoute” at Bangalore in 2015 which also led to his spearheading the Digital Transformation series at NIIT.
Sunil is an Economics Graduate from Delhi University.
Sunita drives the Foundation’s global expansion, including setting strategy, building teams, fund raising, and forging high-potential partnerships. Over the past few years, Sunita has led NEN’s unique capacity-development initiative, where she pioneered the development of India’s entrepreneurship educational capacity and network across 500 academic institutions, creating first-time access to knowledge and skills for aspiring and new entrepreneurs. She also contributes to NEN’s thought leadership by driving research, collaboration and representation at strategic forums in India and abroad.
She is on the advisory and steering committees of several non-profit and government organizations, including AANDE India, SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre at IIT Kanpur. Prior to joining WF’s entrepreneurship network, Sunita helped set up the Mumbai brand of Litmus, a national PR agency. She went on to head Litmus Mumbai, engaging in business development and creative campaign execution for large multinational companies.
Sunita holds a post-graduate degree and an M.Phil.
Atul spearheads marketing activities of Wadhwani Foundation and its Initiatives, globally.
He has over two decades of cross-industrial experience in strategic marketing, branding, product management and marketing communications across some of India’s leading organizations including Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, Shaw Wallace, Videocon, Bennett & Coleman, Biocon and Daewoo Motors. Before he committed full time to the non-profit space, Atul had been instrumental in launching and managing leading FMCG brands like Airtel, Royal Challenge, Daewoo Matiz, Tata Indicom and Kenwood. His marketing career has been replete with success stories on corporate branding and product marketing.
Atul has honed his marketing & branding skills at Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania, Marcus Evans – London, Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore (IIMB), Indian School of Business (ISB) – Hyderabad and Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) – Pune. He is an avid writer and a columnist in leading publications. A member of U.S headquartered International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), he has been extensively awarded for marketing initiatives.
Austin works as EVP of Impact Measurement and Partner Development.
He was previously a management consultant and has worked with the World Bank, The Gates Foundation and the Botswana Govt. Austin was a Vice-President with Dallas based i2, an SCM application software firm, heading both Solutions and Services business units in the U.S and India. He was the leader of i2’s move for offshoring development to its India center in 2002.
Austin is a MBA from University of Chicago, M.S. in IE & OR from Purdue University & B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
Swati is the Financial Controller at Wadhwani Foundation.
Her prior stints were with United Rentals Inc. Corporate Finance, a listed U.S company and a startup, Rate Integration. She commenced her career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells, International Taxation.
Swati holds a B.Com and LLB from Gujarat University and is a Chartered Accountant & Certified Public Accountant, from Colorado State.
Satya has over 20 years of HR experience and his last assignment was Chief Talent Officer with Jupiter Capital. He was earlier heading HR for Organizations like Call Health , 24/ 7 customer, 3 Global Services (Hutchison India), Hinduja Global Solutions , GE and WIPRO.
He is an alum of INSEAD (France) and IIM (Calcutta) with Quality Certifications in Six Sigma, ISO, COPC which includes Lean, Master Black Belt and Two Black Belt Certifications. Satya is also certified with Human Synergistics Tools in Organization Change Management.
Raghu is CTO of Wadhwani Foundation and heads its technology initiatives globally.
He has 20+ years’ of experience in India and US towards building enterprise and consumer products. Prior to joining the Foundation, Raghu was the CTO and co-founder of a women’s health startup which scaled to 7M+ app downloads worldwide. Raghu also worked in engineering leadership roles at global companies like Juniper, Cisco and Netapp. He led the effort to start Netapp’s engineering center in India in 2003 and was instrumental in scaling it to the second largest organization worldwide.
Raghu has a B.Tech in ECE from IIT Madras and an M.S in CS from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
