STPI, Wadhwani Foundation sign MoU to promote ecosystem for startups

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an organization under MeitY, on Wednesday signed an MoU with Wadhwani Foundation’s National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) to promote entrepreneurship and create a nurturing ecosystem for startups incubated at STPI.

The STPI has been working for creation of the startup ecosystem in the country and establisprhing 25 Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) in various emerging technologies, it said in a press release.

Wadhwani Foundation (WF) through NEN will be conducting a 14-week bootcamp programme “NextGen IGNITE” for startups selected in Chunauti 1.0.

“Signing of this MoU with Wadhwani Foundation is one such key step towards strengthening our partnership ecosystem & enabling our startups to leverage their expertise. Each Centre of Entrepreneurship that we are creating at STPI is an extension of our collaboration with the ecosystem around us. The kind of CoE ecosystem developed by STPI is very unique in terms of networking with a large number of partners that no other organization can provide,” STPI director general Omkar Rai said.

Wadhwani Foundation’s associate director Niharika Gaur said: “The Foundation through its large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation and skilling is aiming to accelerate economic development in emerging markets.”
