Multicoverage: Wadhwani Foundation in Ladakh Education Fair 2023

Member of Parliament (MP), Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (JTN) today inaugurated the 2nd edition of the Ladakh Education Fair 2023 at Eliezar Joldan Memorial College, Leh.

In his keynote address, Namgyal encouraged students to fully utilize the opportunities presented by the Ladakh Education Fair to engage with experts and resource persons, thereby shaping their future in a meaningful way.

He also took the opportunity to highlight the remarkable strides made in education over the past four years. He commended the Administration for its commendable efforts in extending quality education to the remotest corners of the Union Territory (UT).
He emphasized that initiatives like the Ladakh Education Fair are pivotal for student development and stressed the need for their continuity and expansion.

The inauguration witnessed a significant milestone as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among the Higher Education Department, Ladakh Skill Development Mission (LSDM), and the Wadhwani Foundation.

The MoU, focused on “Employability Skills Training,” is set to be implemented across Government Degree Colleges, Polytechnics, and ITIs in Ladakh. The MoU was signed by Commissioner Secretary of Technical Education & Skill Development Department Ladakh/ Mission Director Ladakh Skill Development Mission, Padma Angmo, and Executive Vice-President of Wadhwani Skills Network, Sunil Dahiya.

Padma Angmo, in her address, highlighted the increasing competitiveness of the job market and stressed the importance of employability skills.
She expressed optimism about the collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation and its role in honing the employability skills of Ladakh’s youth. Angmo also lauded the incorporation of cutting-edge technology topics such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and drone technology in the fair.

The Ladakh Education Fair, hosted jointly by EJM College Leh and GDC Khaltse, showcased cultural performances by students from both colleges. The event featured stalls by various Departments, NGOs, and Banks, presenting a diverse range of opportunities.
Biometric verification of students for scholarships under the Ministry of Minority Affairs took place, and stalls for apprenticeship garnered registrations from many students.

The two-day fair, simultaneously organized across various Degree Colleges in Ladakh, continued its mission to provide insights into education and employment prospects.
